The ensemble was established for the purposes of the advancement of culture and education by finding connections between folk music and art music traditions. With original programming drawing on the unique skills-sets of bi-musical performers (those musicians who actively specialise in two or more musical genres), it has become Australia's leading Folk Baroque ensemble. With a desire to break down the barriers between classical audiences and the folk community, Evergreen Ensemble's colourful and thought-provoking programs appeal to audience members from diverse socio-cultural backgrounds.
