HAAS SISTERS

Sun 29 MARCH 2026

3:30pm, Geelong West town hall

From childhood tunes to chambergrass mastery.

Natalie and Brittany Haas spent their childhood trading Bach suites and Old-Time tunes in equal measure. Then they went their separate ways and became two of the most influential string players working today.
Natalie put cello on the map of contemporary Celtic music through her duo with Scottish fiddler Alasdair Fraser, absorbing influences from across continents and fashioning a rhythmic approach that belongs to no single tradition. Brittany's fiddle work with Punch Brothers, Hawktail, Crooked Still, and Dave Rawlings Machine has redefined what's possible in American acoustic music, crossing genres with an approach that feels both ancient and entirely new.
Reuniting as HAAS, the duo presents chambergrass music that refuses categorisation. From Nashville to Norway, the Celtic Isles to California, they've built a shared musical vocabulary that moves fluidly between melodic hooks, call-and-response, accompaniment and lead.
With their effortless, intuitive interplay, and having spent decades mastering both their craft and the art of listening to each other, watch as the power of seeing siblings reunite takes centre stage.

ceilidh Dance

Sat 15 AUG 2026

7:00pm, Geelong West town hall

Come and enjoy an evening of dance and socialising in Geelong West! The Geelong Ceilidh band, as well as Shane Lestideau and Friends, will provide live Celtic music with dances called by the one-and-only Una McAlinden.

Pronounced “kay-lee”, a ceilidh is more than just a dance, it’s a traditional social gathering centred around music and group dancing. The word itself comes from the Gaelic for “gathering” or “party”, and while the format may have evolved over time, the energy remains the same. Expect lively reels, jigs and strathspeys, all led by a Caller who walks dancers through the steps. No experience is necessary – it’s not about perfection, it’s about participation.

Ceilidhs often feature a live band playing a variety of instruments including the fiddle, accordion, flute, guitar and piano. Dancers take to the floor to join in dances such as the Dashing White Sergeant, Strip the Willow, Eightsome Reel and Gay Gordons, each of which have their own unique style and steps.

With infectious rhythms and easy to follow patterns, ceilidhs are one of the most exhilarating ways to experience Scottish and Irish culture. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned dancer, you’re welcome to join in the fun!

Mickey & michelle

Sun 20 SEP 2026

3:00pm, Geelong West town hall

Prepare to be captivated by Australia’s most riveting harp and fiddle duo, blending breathtaking musicianship with original music full of wonder.

Descending from the mountains are harp and fiddle duo Mickey & Michelle, whose energetic and virtuosic performances have captured hearts throughout Australia and New Zealand. Celebrated for their intricate arrangements and heartfelt songwriting, Mickey & Michelle weave a gorgeous ‘chamber-folk’ tapestry of original Celtic music infused with vocal harmony and fiery improvisations.

The duo’s journey began with a wild idea: to walk the length of New Zealand on the 3000km Te Araroa Trail for six months, performing concerts along the way. This adventure forged a deep connection between their music, the natural world and the communities they encountered, inspiring carefully crafted lyrics and instrumentals that invite listeners to reflect on their own connection with the natural world.

Following the release of their album Solace in Wonder, Mickey & Michelle continued this journey with a five-month Northern Hemisphere tour through Canada, Spain, England, Scotland, Wales and Iceland. Along the way, they hiked the 800km High Route of the Pyrenees, formed lasting friendships with musicians and fellow adventurers around the world, and found inspiration in the North’s brutal and beautiful landscapes.

Now calling the Bellarine Peninsula home, Mickey & Michelle return to Geelong with new music shaped by these journeys. Expect an evening of soaring melodies, virtuosic instrumentals and heartfelt songs as they push the boundaries of what harp and fiddle can do.
